This patent proposes a non-isolated converter with an extremely high step-down voltage conversion ratio and low voltage stress on switching devices within a moderate duty cycle which can use for voltage regulator modules (VRMs), information and communication technology (ICT) equipment, datacenters etc. By modifying the switches network of the traditional buck converter, the voltage ratio is increased. In the proposed converter, clamping capacitors store energy to be used as a voltage source, which reduces the voltage stress on the switching devices and the input voltage. While the main inductor is the primary component for transferring energy to the output, additional inductors are connected in a parallel network to reduce the burden on the clamping capacitors, ensuring natural balance. Additionally, the level of the switches network can be expanded or reduced to achieve a higher or lower voltage ratio, depending on the application.
